The Northumberland Coast

Just a short drive from Alnwick is the beautiful Northumberland Coast, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the coastline is a mix of sweeping golden sands punctuated with rocky outcrops.

The coastal villages of Alnmouth, Warkworth (Warkworth Castle) and Craster (also famous for it’s kippers and smokehouse), are typical of the area, and also offer a warm welcome at their many inns and restaurants.

To the west of Alnwick are the Northumberland National Park, Simonside and the Cheviot Hills. The beautiful countryside offers the keen walker a range of options and routes to follow including the St Oswald’s Way and St Cuthbert’s Way.
